- If you make Biodiesel in a BioPro™, you will make it for approx. 80 to 85 cents per gallon (California, August, 2017)

USAGE CASE SCENARIO:
Assumptions, based on recent, historically low diesel costs:
- Diesel is on average $2.75/gallon throughout the next 12 months.
- Your input costs are $0.85/gallon (methanol, lye, sulfuric acid, electricity and water).
- You get your grease for free from campus dining facilities.
Therefore, a BioPro™ owner has a built in $1.90/gallon "savings" over diesel.
If a school uses its BioPro™ 190 at 67% of full capacity, that school will produce approximately 6,000 gallons of biodiesel per year. This action "saves" 6,000 x $1.90 or $11,400 in the first 12 months. This is before any savings that might accrue to your college due to tax savings. If your school operated the larger BioPro™ 380 at twice the capacity, these numbers would double.
The BioPro™ 190 costs $10,995 and would avail a return on investment in 11.3 months.

How do we get this figure? By noting that biodiesel emits 90% less CO2 than regular diesel.
Every gallon of diesel burned emits approximagely 21 lbs of CO2. Therefore every gallon of diesel displace by biodiesel keeps 18.9 lbs of CO2 out of the atmosphere.
This adds up quickly.
